Eating Out - FranceIf you've always wanted to visit France but fear that the only food on offer will be frogs legs and snails then fear not. From the metropolitan restaurants of Paris to the small, quaint french fishing villages of Provence and the Cote d'Azur, the food in France is as varied as the country itself.
If you're staying in a holiday villa in France then head for the local markets. Not only are they a great place to pick up fresh produce (and normally at very low prices) but they also provide you with the opportunity to brush up on your French and can make a very interesting and entertaining morning out.
If you're trying to stick to a holiday budget then the following money saving tips could help save you a few euro's.
Although France has a reputation for it's fine cuisine, vegetarians may sometimes feel like they have been forgotten. Whilst restaurants do offer vegetarian options this is often limited to omelettes and salad. Even French soup often contains meat stock so beware. However, those staying in their own holiday villa are provided with more flexibility and can choose from a wide range of local fruits, nuts, fish, soups, and of course - French cheese's such as the world famous Camembert.
In French restaurants the tip is normally included in the final bill but if you would like to leave a little extra this is normally between 5 - 10%. In cafe's a tip is not normally included but a small tip is generally expected.
If you haven't already arranged your holiday accommodation then we have a wide selection of rental holiday homes, villas with pools, and holiday cottages, ideally situated for exploring all parts of France - from the Cote d'Azur & Provence to Brittany and the Dordogne.
