What's on the menu (so to speak) will depend partly on which part of the country you are in as each region has it's own speciality or way of cooking. However, throughout the country pasta rules the roost and comes in every imaginable variation, from spaghetti and cabonara to ravioli and lasagne.
If your not a fan of pasta then don't panic. With countless variations of pizza's, risotto, lamb, chicken and fish dishes you'll be spoilt for choice.
Tipping - In Italy tipping is generally expected. 10 - 15% is generally considered acceptable.
